Technology
SEPCO Plc is proposing the SEPCO STEG system, a composite total waste management solution that addresses all the issues. With the applied proprietary technology available to us we can provide solutions, which will lead, very nearly, to a zero landfill option and the conversion of 150,000 tons of waste annually into valuable fuel. Cellulose fibre is classified as renewable fuel and thus will make ‘green’ electricity.
The SEPCO STEG Process not only adheres to present day North American and EU Directives but also addresses key proposals set out in the EU Landfill Directive, in which it is proposed that all future waste delivered to landfill, should be pre-treated and inert. The system meets the criteria for the Reduction and Recycle of waste. The basis of the process is that it deals with waste in a clean non-emitting sanitized manner utilizing a highly advanced autoclaving technique.
This technology is tried and tested and accepted throughout the world. This approach offers a clear route to an effective Environmental Management System with resultant cost benefits together with a solution to the problems associated with dealing with waste. The SEPCO STEG Process fully addresses and adheres to the initiatives of the UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro 1992 to achieve a sustainable future. The technology has been endorsed by the British Government’s Department of Trade & Industry under the Carbon Emissions Reduction Programme in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol.
The machinery and the plant will be built in Thailand under the MOU on “Sustainable Energy Research and Development and Technology Transfer” signed between the British Government’s Department of Trade & Industry and Thai Government, DEDE, Ministry of Energy formerly DEDP, Ministry of Science and Technology and Environment.
This is the intended and preferred technology route for the project. However, there are some options for the components within the overall waste treatment process and generation of energy, that have been explored as possible fall-back options in the unlikely event of problems or delays occurring.
